Russian Language Training
Streamline provides Russian language training to its customers in accordance with the unified standards of the Common European Framework
(C.E.F.). The aim of the course is to develop all four language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The emphasis is placed on increasing speaking fluency but can be shifted depending on the customer’s learning goals. The content of the course can be tailored to the student’s individual needs or the company’s preferences.
We use the latest most effective teaching methods and base our language instruction on the
communicative approach, which means that most of the classroom tasks provide learners with the opportunity to exchange meaningful information using the language as a tool for communication. Although explicit grammar instruction is not completely excluded from the course, especially at beginner level, a much greater part of the class work is dedicated to increasing students’ vocabulary and fluency and thus helping them to feel more confident when interacting in the Russian language. This is achieved with the help of such communicative activities as role-plays, info-gap tasks, surveys, project work, and case studies.
All Streamline teachers of Russian hold university-level qualifications in teaching Russian as a Foreign Language, and have several years’ experience in teaching Russian to foreigners. Our course instructors have worked with learners from different areas of the world (Europe, America, Asia, the Middle East) and are aware of the different challenges the Russian language represents to learners from a particular country and the different teaching strategies that should be applied in every individual case.
The main textbook for the course is Поехали! (Let’s Go!). The book is a two-part communicative course which is supplemented with an audio program and a dictionary translated into English, German, and French. The first part of Поехали! corresponds to A1 level of the Common European Framework; the second part of the textbook takes students to A2 level of the same system. Upon successful completion of the second level of the course students are awarded Streamline
certificates.
The length of study (one or two levels) is determined by the learner themselves and depends on their individual goals.
Before signing up for the course students with some knowledge of Russian should pass a
