8. How is Streamline different from other language schools?

The main difference lies in the quality of teaching. We do not only employ highly qualified professionals but also use the latest authentic teaching materials and offer a wide range of programs of study to our customers.

Streamline is the only language school that offers its students optional conversational classes with native speakers for free.

At Streamline, you will receive free supplementary study materials during every single class. You will also have the opportunity to use our library as well as audio and video resources for free.

We are so confident about the quality of our services that we offer a free trial class to all our customers. We also provide partial compensation to students who have to miss a number of classes upon providing us with a written notice.

We offer discounted prices to customers who have studied with us for more than one year, who are studying more than one language at the same time, or whose close family member has joined one of our courses. The discounts range from 5 to 30 per cent.

9. What is the duration of each level of study?

The duration of one level of the general language course is 160 academic hours (for classes meeting two times a week) or 168 academic hours (for classes meeting three times a week).

10. At what time are your classes held?

The majority of our classes are held in the evening (from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and from 7:40 p.m. to 9:10 p.m.). Some classes meet in the morning (from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and from 9:40 a.m. to 11:10 a.m.). Classes for children and teenagers meet in the afternoon (the schedules may vary).

11. Where are your classes held?

Most of our locations are conveniently situated in the downtown area of the city. You may find the exact addresses here.

12. What is the placement test and what is it for?

The placement test is a written assessment of your language knowledge, which may be followed by a verbal interview. The placement test is necessary to determine your language knowledge level and to be able to offer you a program of study that will meet your needs as a learner most effectively.
You may find the schedule of the upcoming placement tests here.

13. Is it possible to study on a flexible schedule or to attend classes with different groups at the same time?

No, it is not. Student groups are formed for the entire period of study and their schedule does not change throughout the academic year. The group size is limited. However, we do our best to provide you with an option that will suit you most.

14. Is it necessary to complete all levels of language study?

No, it is not. You determine the length of study yourself depending on the results you would like to achieve. However, if you start at Beginner’s level and want to achieve a certain degree of fluency, we recommend that you complete at least three levels, i.e. Elementary, Pre-Intermediate, and Intermediate.

15. How fast will I learn a foreign language?

This will depend on your goals. The level of language knowledge necessary to interact on basic everyday topics is very different from the level required for effective business communication in the foreign language. The periods of time necessary to achieve the desired level differ accordingly. Whatever your goals, we recommend that you complete at least one level of study to achieve best results at the given level. You may find more detailed information in the answer to question six.

16. Will two to four months of study be enough to prepare myself for a job interview or a serious exam, like TOEFL or IELTS?

Yes, providing that your beginning level is high and you simply need to refresh your language skills. Otherwise, much longer preparation time may be required. Therefore, if you plan to take a serious exam in the near future, you need to start to get ready for it as soon as possible.

17. Is it possible to study in an ‘extreme mode’, i.e. several hours a day, several days a week?

The intensive courses ‘Basic Survival’ and ‘Survival English’ offer nine hours of study per week. In the general language course you may choose between four and six hours of study weekly. For people who both work or study and attend language classes, such workload is considered the most effective, the more so, they have to allow certain time for completing their home assignments. Apart from that, all our customers have the opportunity to attend free optional conversational classes with native speakers every week.

Corporate Language Training

Highly qualified professionals fluent in foreign languages represent an invaluable asset for any company. Today’s business world calls for new requirements for employees, among which is the ability to communicate on professional topics effectively. Employing an interpreter or constantly relying on the services of a translation agency can by no means substitute for a private face-to-face conversation with your foreign business partner. The need for increasing employees’ foreign language competence is reflected in most staff development programs of leading international companies. Corporate language training, or the so-called ‘in-company training’ is gaining popularity all over the world. Streamline is pleased to offer your company an up-to-date quality service – corporate language training.
