The rules and requirements
1. The first class is a trial one. It means that if a student decides not to continue study at Streamline and informs the school administration about this fact in writing prior to the second class, they will be refunded the total sum of their payment with the exception of the cost of the first class.
2. If a student is going to miss from three to six consecutive classes with a valid excuse (sickness, business travel, etc.) and notifies the school administration about this fact in advance, half the cost of the missed classes will be refunded to the student at the time of their payment for the last semester of the academic year.
3. If a student temporarily stops their studies due to any circumstances, they may continue classes in their initial or new group (provided there are vacant places) at any time throughout the academic year. In such a case, half of the student’s paid but missed classes will be taken into account at the time of their next semester payment.
*Points 2 and 3 do not apply to the participants of the Survival English course, Summer Conversational course and students with special (seasonal) discounts.
4. Single cases of absence from classes, as well as dropping out of the course after the second class or later, will not be refunded.
5. If the number of students in a group becomes 6 рeople or fewer (4 people for V.I.P. groups), Streamline reserves the right to reorganize the group. In such a case, students may be offered to attend classes with another group of the same level.
6. With a valid excuse, a student may request a transfer to a different group, provided there are vacant places there.
7. Course fees are paid on a semester basis. The semester length is eight weeks. Payment for the next semester must be made before the expiration of the previous one. In case of non-payment or a late payment, the student is removed from the group and may only resume study with their group after a complete payment and on the condition that there are vacant places in the group.
8. The length of study at each level of the course is one academic year, which is approximately nine months (five eight-week semesters with classes meeting two times per week for two academic hours each).
9. Streamline certificates stating that the student has passed the given level (except Elementary) are issued at the end of the academic year in the following languages: English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Polish, and Czech. To receive a Streamline certificate, the student must pass the final exam successfully (i.e. to score 60 per cent or above), as well as attend classes for the entire academic year or for the entire second half of the academic year, providing that the student has studied at Streamline until the very end of the academic year. In exceptional cases, it may be possible to request an earlier final exam date (not earlier than one month before the end of the academic year, however).
10. Conversational classes with native speakers are optional and require attendance registration. To register, a student must call Streamline office (it is possible to sign up for the current week’s class only). Native speaker classes are a free bonus to all Streamline customers and are not included into the course program. Consequently, a student will not be compensated in any way if they cannot find an opportunity to attend any or all of the native speaker classes.
11. All Streamline customers are granted free use of Streamline library, video and audio resources. A refundable deposit is required, however.
12. The student is expected to show respect towards the teacher and other members of the group and behave accordingly. If a student shows disruptive behavior, they may be removed from the group without any refund of the course fees paid.
